A Kefka Comic Isn’t Out of the Question

With the popularity of the Final Fantasy series, and especially the raging anticipation of the Final Fantasy VII remake, sources close to Square Enix may be tossing around an unexpected spin-off to boost interest.
We know Kefka Palazzo as the main villain of Final Fantasy VI, but some writers have sought to spin him in a different light.
“We don’t mean ‘comic’ in the graphic novel sense,” one of our sources explained. “We really mean it more like Garfield or Archie. We think Kefka has some solid potential in a weekly comedic setting. I can really see us pairing him with a Moogle in some misadventures, ya know?”
“I mean, what could possibly be funnier than a guy who looks like a clown, lacks self-control, and just likes causing trouble with a Moogle? I think we could even rope in a younger audience by playing up the mischievous and slapstick side. It could follow in the lines of Pokemon or Digimon, but without all the action. Just lots and lots of slapstick comedy and general wackiness.”
We’re skeptical, to say the least. But at least we’re not talking about a Kefka, Sephiroth, and a Moogle. Or Tidus. Just leave the oven-mitt out of it.
