Exclusive: GTA VI – Ypsilanti, Michigan

Early this morning, a source close to Rockstar Games, makers of the Grand Theft Auto franchise told us that his hours of eavesdropping on the company had finally paid off. Yes, we’re talking about GTA VI!
“I heard it with my own ears, the title of the new Grand Theft Auto Game. GTA V I, Ypsilanti, Michigan,” our source said.
The man we’ll call “The Roadie”, told us the new game would connect GTA with a group of fans who had never lived in a city like Los Angeles. Instead of fancy cars in sunny locations, it’s about securing a low-mileage SUV, or pickup, that will last through the severe Michigan winter.
What to Expect From GTA VI
According to the source, in the game you’ll have to dodge, and even steal salt trucks. But be careful, using too much salt on the roads can bring down the wrath of local environmental groups who fear the salt’s impact on the water system.
One of the aspects of the game with which Rockstar appears to be very happy is the new drifting system. Unlike what you’d expect, this drifting system is all about how the snow piles up in the streets. So if you get your car stuck, you’ll have to get out and shovel snow.
As a side note, if you get into a parked car, and the temperature is too low, you’ll have to scavenge around the car for the ice scraper. Or you can wait 5-10 minutes with the engine on for the windows to thaw. And there’s always the option to just drive it without clearing the windows if you’re in a hurry.
If city driving bothers you, there are plenty of backroads and corn fields to drive. The Roadie wasn’t completely certain, but he thought farm equipment and construction trucks had been mentioned.
It seems that Rockstar will have an interesting game on their hands, though we’re not certain if it will actually connect with fans of the franchise. We were unable to determine information about the game’s launch, but we’ll keep you posted as best we can.
